Allianz International Medical and Travel Insurance Plans
Allianz offers plans for short and long international trips, as well as annual plans for frequent travelers. They also offer plans for expats relocating overseas.
Allianz Care: International Medical Insurance
International health insurance is primarily aimed at expats who are living outside of their home country for an extended period of time. The Allianz Care plans include in-patient and day-patient care, medical evacuation and oncology case manager services. Members also have the option to add out-patient care, dental, maternity and repatriation.
Allianz Care has three plan levels, Care, Care Plus and Care Pro.
Allianz Global Insurance Network
In most countries, Allianz members can see the provider of their choice, so long as the health care service they are looking for is covered under their policy. Allianz medical coverage uses a “pay and claim” model in most instances; you pay for treatment, file a claim and Allianz will reimburse you for your costs. (Some policies in certain regions include direct billing if you see a doctor in the Allianz network.) While many international insurance providers such as Cigna or GeoBlue have networks that offer direct billing, in which the insurer pays the medical bill directly without you being out of pocket, Allianz does not.
Areas of Coverage
Allianz Care offers three areas of coverage: Africa only, Worldwide excluding the USA and Worldwide Including the USA.
Allianz OneTrip and AllTrips plans offer two areas of coverage: Worldwide excluding the USA and Canada and Worldwide including the USA and Canada.

Allianz Care members who are searching for a provider can use the Allianz Provider Finder. Allianz Care policyholders who are in the United States are required to use the Global Excel network.
